Description

Anderson ZurMuehlen & Co., P.C. is looking for a Tax Manager to join our staff. As a professional working in our office in Havre, MT you will  serve as a liaison between the client and the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and prioritize simultaneous engagements
  • Accountability for performance of engagements within the identified scoop of the project
  • Makes and implements recommendations for refinement of engagement procedures to increase effectiveness
  • Participate in marketing efforts to generate new clients
  • Track time and maintain appropriate records
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Resolve technical questions
  • Review work for completeness, accuracy, and technical issues
  • Monitor deadlines for assigned client services and regulatory filings

Essential Qualifications

  • Combination of education and experience equal to a college degree and at least three years' work experience in public accounting experience handling individual and corporate tax returns
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating and application software
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Advanced organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to perform with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to work increased hours between January-April
  • Willingness to adapt to changing situations and needs in a positive manner
  • Advances research skills and ability to interpret and apply rules/ regulations to specific situations

Education, Certificates, Licenses
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is required, Master's in Accountancy or other related field preferred and a CPA license preferred.

Knowledge
Advanced Excel skills required. Knowledge of accounting software systems, general databases, and Microsoft Office required. Current knowledge of financial accounting and the tax process required. Knowledge of ongoing changes to corporate and individual income tax codes and regulations required.

Compensation
$60,000-$75,000, depending on qualifications

Deadline

Position closes at 5:00 p.m. on October 12th with a start date to follow closely afterwards

Environment
Work inside a general office setting with ergonomically configured equipment. Minimal travel requirements.
